Omada Identity Analytics FAQ & Troubleshooting
This page provides a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) and troubleshooting information for Omada Identity Analytics (OIA). It is intended to help you quickly find answers to common issues and understand the behavior of OIA dashboards and features.
Most of this information can also be found on the Omada Identity Analytics (OIA) page and documentation pages of particular dashboards, explained as part of related sections. This page aims to gather the most frequent questions in one place for convenience.
If you encounter an issue not covered in this FAQ, contact Omada Support for assistance.
Data model and freshness
Q: Why does a dashboard show data that seems out of date or doesn't match what I see in the Enterprise Server?
A: Main dashboards use a daily-built model refreshed after midnight, not live streaming; check the on-dashboard timestamp, and consult the Enterprise Server or Omada Data Warehouse directly for real-time accuracy. The main exception is the Access Intelligence dashboard, where the data model can be built on-demand: a mismatch there is more likely to point to a real issue than to normal refresh lag.
Q: Why don't OIA and ES match exactly?
A: There are two probable causes: inherent ES/ODW differences and time lag since the last model refresh. As with the previous question, the Access Intelligence dashboard is the main exception, since its data model can be built on-demand.
Q: Why does a jump-to dashboard (JTD) show more recent data than the main dashboard?
A: Some JTDs use a hybrid model that supplements the daily build with direct ES data for gaps. This applies only to specific JTDs listed on each relevant dashboard's page.
Q: How to find jump-to dashboards (JTD)?
A: Dashboards and widgets that let you jump to another dashboard are marked with an opening icon next to their name. To use one, right-click an item in the widget and select the jump-to option that appears – for example, right-clicking an item in the Identity list (Assignments) widget on the Access Navigator dashboard lets you jump directly to the Identity Change Log dashboard.
Some JTDs link to a further JTD of their own. Look for the same navigation cues (for example, right-click drill-down options) on each JTD to discover whether it leads to another one.
Access and availability
Q: Why can't I see Dashboards & Analytics in Omada Identity (on-prem) or Omada Identity Cloud Private?
A: Omada Identity Analytics is only included in Omada Identity Cloud. It is not available in Omada Identity on-premises deployments, and it is currently not supported in Omada Identity Cloud Private.
Q: Why can't I see a particular dashboard?
A: Particular dashboards require that you belong to different user groups. See Access to dashboards for details.
Login and browser requirements
Q: Why am I stuck in a redirect loop? Why can't I authenticate into Dashboards & Analytics?
A: Your browser's cookie policy may be blocking the analytics domain. Add <environment-id>.dr-xxxx-ceu-analytics.omada.cloud to allowed cookies in your browser. For details, see Browser requirements.
Export and download
Q: Why is my Excel export missing rows?
A: Pivot-table-based Excel exports are limited to 10,000 rows (not raisable). Use CSV for more.
Q: Why can't I export a widget in a particular format?
A: Some widget types (for example, pie charts) offer fewer export formats than others (for instance, tables).
Q: Should I use portrait or landscape orientation when exporting to Image or PDF?
A: Portrait mode is recommended. It makes better use of the page when exporting widgets to Image or PDF formats.
SSRS reports
Q: Why can't I see the SSRS reports?
A: The legacy SSRS reports were removed from Omada Identity Cloud starting from the August 2026 Cloud Update, after a 12-month deprecation process. They are fully replaced with modern and interactive Dashboards & Analytics (Omada Identity Analytics).
For full documentation, see:
- The initial release note and the final release note announcing this change.
- Deprecation Calendar: Legacy features and components.
- Mapping of legacy reports to OIA dashboards, where you can follow how the same data that was accessible through legacy reports can now be accessed through easy-to-use OIA dashboards.
Translations
Q: Why are some values not translated in OIA dashboards?
A: Some values displayed in OIA dashboards are data values received from external systems, not UI strings owned by Omada. Because Omada only translates its own UI elements – not data passing through the system – these values appear in whatever language or format the source system provides them in. This is expected behavior, not a bug.
General dashboard tips
Q: How do I reset filters on a dashboard?
A: In the right pane, disable the toggle for the filter, or use the reset-filters option to clear the applied filtering.
Q: I double-clicked a filter with many options – why are not all values showing?
A: This is a known behavior of filters with a large number of options. Reset the filter to see all available values.
Q: How do I select multiple items in a grid widget?
A: Hold Ctrl and right-click each item to multi-select.
Q: Why does a dashboard with tabs open on a particular tab?
A: Dashboards with tabs remember and reopen the last tab you used, rather than returning to Omada's suggested default tab.
Q: How to get more screen space for the widgets on a dashboard?
A: The filter section can be collapsed to free up more screen space.
FAQ related to particular dashboards
The answers to frequently asked questions about particular dashboards can be found on the documentation pages of those dashboards, explained as part of related sections. This section aims to gather all questions in one place for convenience.
Access Navigator
For full documentation, see Access Navigator.
Q: Why do I get an error selecting identities from the Identities list to send to Access Navigator?
A: The pre-selection limit depends on Identity ID length (~250–500 typical); exceeding it causes an error. See Navigation between dashboards and Identities list to learn more.
Q: Why do I get an error navigating from Access Navigator back to the Identities list in ES?
A: A maximum of 40 identities can be pre-selected in that direction. See Navigation between dashboards and Identities list to learn more.
Report Generator
For full documentation, see Report Generator.
Q: I selected fields in a dropdown – why are they not in my report?
A: Make sure to click Apply after selecting fields. Closing the dropdown without applying triggers an unsaved-changes warning and discards your selections.
Q: Why are some of my extension attributes (custom fields) missing from a dropdown?
A: Each field has a cap on displayed extension attributes (Account: 40, Identity: 40, Context: 20, Resource: 10, System: 5). Over the limit, only the max is shown, alphabetically.
Q: I shared my saved Report Generator configuration – why does the other person see less data?
A: Shared configurations respect each user's own access rights. Users don't see data beyond what they're permitted to see.
Q: Why does my Report Generator download look off in Excel and PDF?
A: In the Report Generator dashboard, CSV is the recommended default, and it has no width or length limitations. Other formats have limitations documented on the OIA export page.
Access Intelligence
For full documentation, see Access Intelligence.
Q: Why do I get an error when opening Access Intelligence?
A: The Access Intelligence dashboard requires a paid subscription. Without it, the dashboard is listed, but you'll see an error message when you open it.
Q: Why don't my indirectly-assigned resources show up as role candidates in Access Intelligence?
A: By design, Access Intelligence only considers direct resource assignments to protect cluster quality.
Q: I promoted a role proposal to a role – why is it not showing as active?
A: New roles are created as inactive by default; you must manually set their status to Active in the Resources list view.
Q: Why is a role's score low?
A: A low score means that identities in the scope are missing the clustered resource(s), or identities outside the scope have them – signaling the proposal needs further investigation. See Role Proposal table for details.
Identity Comparison
Q: I selected 5 identities for comparison – why are there only 4 in the Resource Assignments Matrix?
A: The Similar assignments filter hides identities that share nothing in common with the rest.
