Forms
A Form is a template that defines the layout and content of the views that are displayed to the user of the activities in a process. They also define what is displayed for Data Objects in the Tree Structure.
A form is where the assignee of the activity can enter the requested information and submit the activity to the subsequent assignee. When a business process is run, the forms are used to view the information that was entered into the system during the execution of the process.
A form is based on a data object type, reflecting the properties which are assigned to the data object type used for the form.
No matter whether you edit, create or copy a form, you will have to perform the same steps. You can:
-
Change the content and layout of your form to suit your requirements
-
Add and remove form sections and fields
-
Move fields from one section to another and arrange the order in which the information is displayed on the form
Furthermore, you can define to display the information in columns, and you can add explanatory text to your form. The general form information is defined in the Form dialog box, whereas the layout is specified in the Design Form dialog box.
Additionally, you can customize a form for an activity from the Activity Template dialog box by defining the availability of the fields on the form.
The Form dialog box is accessed from the Data Object Type dialog box or the Activity Template dialog box but can also be accessed from the Forms view.
Design a form
The process of designing a form is the same whether it is for a Type form or an Activity form:
-
The Type form can be accessed for editing from the Forms view, or the data object type.
-
The Activity form can be accessed for editing from the Forms view or from the Activity details dialog box.
Data Object Type form
Every time you run a process in Omada, a data object is created. It contains all the information which is entered into the form during the process. The data object form is used for viewing this information.
A default data object form is created when you create a data object type. You can edit the default form to suit your purpose.
To work with the data object form:
-
Open the Data Object Types view
-
Click the Edit form icon next to the Form field.
To edit the type form for the data object, click the Create new form icon to create a new data object form for the data object type.
When you create a new form, remember to select the data object type from the Owner (data object type) dropdown list in the Form dialog box.
The data object form initially contains one section called [Data Object Type name] details, which include all the properties assigned to the data object type.
Working with form fields
The default forms in display a number of fields as entry and information boxes.
They reflect the properties which have been added to the data object type or the process template the form is related to.
As you work with your forms, you may add more fields, either using properties which have already been created or creating additional properties specifically for your purpose. You can also edit the properties on the form.
