Create classification tag categories
Follow these steps to create classification tag categories:
-
Find the Classification tag categories view in Setup > Master Data > More... > Classification tags, then click New to open the New classification tag category view.
-
Type a Name for the tag category, then type a Category ID.
- The Category ID must be unique.
-
Optionally, type a Description. Click the box to the right of the textbox to add descriptions for all the languages enabled in the system.
-
If you want to add one or more owners directly, click the lookup icon next to Explicit Owner setting to select one or more identities to specify as the owner/owners of the classification tag. When you are done, click OK to save your changes and create the new classification tag category.
-
Select the Relevant for risk calculation checkbox if the category is to be used for risk calculation.
-
If you selected the Relevant for risk calculation checkbox, also specify the applicable Risk weight.
The Owner setting is by default set to be read-only because ownership of classification tag categories is normally assigned via the self-management feature.
Classification tag category settings
The settings of the classification tag category include the following:
- Name - mandatory, a name for the classification tag category.
- Category ID - mandatory, category ID for the classification tag category.
- Description - a description of the classification tag category, for example, to explicitly state the exact use case for the new classification tag category. You can provide descriptions in English, German, Danish, and Swedish.
- Owner - by default, a read-only setting. You can add an owner to the classification tag by running an access request.
- Explicit owner - an owner of the classification tag added directly to explicitly state one or more identities that can be the owners of the classification tag.
- Relevant for risk calculation - when selected, the category will be included in risk calculation.
- Risk weight - the risk severity factor of a given category in relation to other categories.
Request ownership of classification tag categories
You must request the ownership of classification tag categories through the Request Access service, similar to requesting access to other resources in . Also, similar to other access requests, a user's manager may also request the access to the classification tag category.
To request ownership of classification tag categories:
-
Go to Request Access in the Services menu to open the Request Access process.
-
In the Request Access view, specify the access request settings as you need to, for example stating why you need the access or the time from when the access request should be valid. Remember that certain settings are mandatory for you to specify.
-
In the Search & Select column, click the Resource type drop down-menu, choose the Classification Tag Category Owner, then click Add.
-
In the Specify attribute values dialog box that opens, click the lookup icon to open the Select classification tag category selection. Select the classification tag categories that you want to request to become the owner of, then click OK, then OK again to return to the Request Access view.
-
Back in the Request Access view, you can add access requests for more resource types and resources if you need to. When you are satisfied with your selections, click Submit to send the access request for approval.
Depending on how your organization has set up the approval flow for the resource type Classification Tag Category Owner, your access request may either be approved automatically or someone else in the system must manually approve the access request.
You can always check the status of your access request for classification tag categories on the My access requests page.
Classification tags category owners are not imported to the Data Warehouse, so, contrary to other objects, it is not a problem to use Explicit Owner to assign owners for them.
