Event actions

An event action is an action which will take place when an event happens. Omada Identity includes the following event actions:

  • Send email
  • Execute code method
  • Modify object
  • Copy data
  • Reassign activity.

An event definition is a set of rules defining when an event should take place and what should happen.

Create an Event Definition for a Transition

The Event Definition dialog box for a transition event is used for defining when an event is activated or triggered and what should happen.

  1. Click the process template, select the toolbar page menu and click Event definitions.

  2. In the Name field, type a name for the event definition.

  3. If you do not want the event to be active, but do not want to delete it, select the Disabled checkbox.

  4. From the Event triggers on this object... dropdown list, select the data object, activity, or process which will provide the properties for setting up a filter defining the conditions.

  5. Click Apply.

  6. Then click Filter to define the filter criteria which must be met.

  7. When this is done, back in the Edit event definition dialog box, you will define what should happen when the event is triggered. This is done in the Actions to be executed pane.

Define an Action to be Executed

In the Actions to be Executed pane, you can work with the actions that should take place when the event is triggered. The actions will be listed in the Actions to be Executed pane displaying the type of activity as well as what the action is based on.

On the Actions to be Executed pane toolbar:

  1. Click New to create a new action.

  2. In the Select an action to be created dialog box, select the type of action you want to create. You have the following options:

    • Send email.
    • Execute code method.
    • Modify object.
    • Copy data.
    • Reassign activity (only available when working with event definitions for process templates and transition events).
  3. Select an existing action and click Edit to modify the action.

  4. Select an action and click Delete. Confirm that you want to delete the action.

  5. To prioritize the order in which the actions are executed for an event, select an action and click Up or Down, as the case may be.
