Installation
Installation script – "Permission denied" when running install.sh
Previously, the shell scripts in the installation package (oicp_install_<version>.zip) were extracted without execute permission. As a result, running ./install.sh on a Linux VM failed immediately with a Permission denied error (exit code 126). The same error could also occur for scripts that the installer runs during installation, such as the product version check and the health check.
This issue has been fixed. The scripts in the installation package for this release and later keep their execute permission when you extract the package on Linux.
If you install a package for the July 2026 or August 2026 release, or if you extract the package on Windows and copy the files to the VM, restore execute permission on all scripts before you run the installer. From the directory where you extracted the package, run:
Tool: Bash shell
find scripts -type f -name '*.sh' -exec chmod +x {} +
Alternatively, start the installer with bash ./install.sh --config ./deployment-config.json.
The above fixes are specifically part of the Omada Identity Cloud Private newest release.
At the same time, the newest fixes applied to Omada Identity Cloud are also applicable to Cloud Private, as the two products share the same core.
