Create classification tag

Follow these steps to create a classification tag:

  1. Find the Classification tags view in Setup > Master Data > More... > Classification tag categories, then click New to open the New Classification tag page.
  2. Type a Name for the new classification tag, then choose a classification tag category to associate with the classification tag by clicking the lookup icon and choosing a classification tag in the window that opens.
  3. Choose an appropriate classification tag Category to associate with the classification tag.
  4. Optionally, type a Description. Click the icon to the right of the textbox to add descriptions for all the languages enabled in the system.
  5. In the Applies to textbox, type a comma-separated list of data objects that this classification tag can apply to, for example, RESOURCE,IDENTITY to make the classification tag available only for these two data object types. Leave it empty to not limit the use of the classification tag.
  6. If the chosen classification tag category is marked as "Relevant for risk calculation", the Risk value field will be visible. Specify the appropriate risk value for the classification tag.
  7. When you are done, click OK to save your changes and create the new classification tag.

Classification tag settings

The settings of the classification tag include the following:

  • Name - mandatory, a name for the classification tag. Note that the name must be unique within the selected classification tag category.
  • Category - a classification tag category to associate with the classification tag by clicking the lookup icon and choosing a classification tag in the window that opens. You can only choose one classification tag category.
  • Description - a description of the classification tag, for example, to explicitly state the exact use case for the new classification tag. You can provide descriptions in English, German, Danish, and Swedish.
  • Applies to - a comma-separated list of data objects that this classification tag can apply to by typing the system name for the particular data object type, for example, type RESOURCE,IDENTITY to make the individual classification tag available only for these two data object types. If you run a classification survey for other data object types, the classification tag does not appear.
    • Include one or more of the following system names for limit the use of the use of the classification tag:
      • IDENTITY (Identities)
      • ORGUNIT (Org.units)
      • RESOURCE (Resources)
      • RESOURCEFOLDER (Resource folders)
      • SYSTEM (Systems)
    • Leave this setting empty to make it available for all data object types that can be a part of a classification survey.
note

When you have set up or created the classification tag categories and classification tags that you require for your organization, the next step should be to tag the data object types.

You can add classifications by using various dedicated classification surveys for the data object types for resources and systems, and generic surveys for classification of identities, resource folders, and contexts.

When you add classifications to systems, you add the tags to the actual system and not the resources included with the system. This is also the case for all data objects that contain or include other types of data objects.
