Transfer ownership survey

The Transfer ownership survey is used to transfer ownerships of objects when an identity is leaving the organization.

The survey is not configured out-of-the-box, so you need to configure an event definition to trigger the launch of the survey.

Assigning owners through the survey

In this example, Hannah Miller has been added as resource owner in three different ways -- Explicitly from the source system, Manually in Omada Identity, and via an Access request for the Resource Owner role.

The Post-validity for the Resource Owner role resource type has been set to 10 days. Hannah Miller has then been terminated.

The survey is launched and assigned to John Smith (Hannah Miller's manager).

John Smith selects a proposed owner, and the proposed owner must then accept the ownership (in this case himself).

Once the proposed owner has accepted the ownership, a Resource assignment is created for John for the Resource Owner for each resource he has accepted the ownership of.

Removing the existing owner

Hannah Miller is removed as the Effective owner at the end of the post-validity period. If the ownership is based on a Resource assignment, the assignment will be set to obsolete as part of the transfer ownership process.

The properties Explicit Owner and Manual owner are not updated in the Transfer ownership survey. The explicit owner needs to be updated through a source system update, and the manual owner needs to be updated manually, or via a process or event (none of which is configured out-of-the-box).
