Delegation of self-management roles
Using the Delegation process, it is possible for an Owner/Manager to delegate the self-management role to another user. This can be used for example when a user is on holiday and need to temporarily delegate access rights to a colleague.
Creating a delegation
Emma Taylor delegates her assignment as Organizational Unit Manager to Charles Lee.
When submitted, it will be calculated by RoPE as a Calculated Resource Assignment.
And the identity will be added to the Effective owner (i.e. Manager) property for the organizational unit.
Charles Lee is not allowed to re-delegate the ownership, as he is only a delegated manager.
Removing a delegation
Once Emma's assignment as owner is disabled or removed -- then the calculated resource assignment for Charles Lee will be expired, and he will no longer be listed as the Manager.
It is also possible for the delegator or an administrator to expire the delegation manually.
